Power can be defined as an authority over something or someone in order to get a task done. Power is described and seen in homes, school, place of work, community and in relationship with significant. In my life, power has worked in two different ways whereby it has formed a bias between wanting something and achieving something. However, power created a conflict for me due to the struggle behind my goals. The challenges I believe with too much power is where I have a few goals that is being set by the people around me, which there are plenty expectations on which I have to meet in order to gain a reward. The sources of power that describes me is the referent power and a little bit of expert power, although the attribute toward meeting my expectations, reward power can be used.
In my various relationships, I will use referent power which Interpersonal skills have different stages that can affect various levels. One of the biggest examples of this kind of referent power is loyalty and a positive personality that people will admire. I absolutely understand and believe that every friend wants to have a trustworthy and a loyal partner that can bandstand at any supporting and trial times. I will give an example of when I was in high school and I lived in a boarding house. I had a year left to graduate before then I was given the headship of a sport prefect, I could punish anyone abuses the dress code for sport or game but I misused the power by sending the junior ones errands such as doing some domestic chores.
