“The characters in Lord of the flies possess recognizable traits that make them individuals as the sort of people that everyone has known in school, work and society, and become convincingly embodiments of particular aspects of human nature.”The boys in the novel take on savagery as they are on this island and lose all connection to humanity and civilization. while in the inhuman state of mind the boys murder, and turn backs on each other which creates conflict among themselves and with each other.In the novel, The Lord of The Flies, by William Golding piggy symbolizes the intelligence in humans, Ralph represents the need to have order, Jack equals chos all which are found in humanity.
Piggy is one of the first boys to be found in the book, he is the brains and the grown up in the situation.The novel states, “He could go step by step inside that fat head of his, only Piggy was no chief. But Piggy for all his ludicrous body, had brains” (Golding).not very many of the boys liked piggy and they always gave him a hard time because of how he looked. He always knew what was best but all the boys just thought he was dumb and didn’t have any clue what he was talking about, they harassed and embarrassed him as much as they could.
