Positive self-esteem that is built from the teamwork, goal setting, and goal reaching, can help later in life. An adult with positive self-esteem will be less likely to be afraid to try new things and is more of a pleasure to be around and easier to work with. Student athletes can agree with all of this because it teaches discipline and a lot of other things. Parents can disagree with my reason, because they don't want their child to go through with intense training. They think it's way too much for the child.
Though this argument may seem accurate, it does not fully explain some of the major health risks and what the parents and coaches are doing to prevent as many injuries as possible. In conclusion, young athletes should play sports because, youth sports can be a learning experience or it can be a health risk to the athletes. The three main points are how sports keep you healthy, how they build character, and the values that they will learn from sports and how they will use them in the future. Even though there are many health risks involved, the coaches and parents are doing the best they can to prevent their child from getting hurt.

Future parents, educators, and government officials need to take this information into consideration in order to promote healthy lifestyles for children. Further research should be conducted to examine specific sports and the benefits that can come from these. Having children participate in sports programs can deter issues that are currently rising in society, such as obesity and behavioral problems. People who play sports bond over a common interest. This opens up children to meeting new kids and socializing with many more. In Kindergarten, I played baseball. Even though I did not truly understand all the mechanics of the game, I met new friends and began to develop motor skills. This was very useful starting at an early age and pushed me to stay active throughout my life.
