Anorexia nervosa has been linked to various causes and researchers have identified several main causes of anorexia. Most notable of the findings were Western culture influences on body image and family factors, which have been well-researched in many literatures as possible leading causes. These factors play a substantial role in the fear of becoming fat and resulting in self-starvation; thus, developing this debilitating disorder.
