Wedding Speech - Best Man
Afternoon everyone, firstly, the city council have asked me to request
that, for health and safety reasons, none of you get up on top of the chairs
and tables during my standing ovation.
I'm sure you'll all admit this has turned out to be a fabulous wedding
celebration, yet every silver- lining does have a cloud, and that is,
unfortunately that you've all got to listen to me for a few minutes.
I'd just like to start by thanking everyone on behalf of the Bride and
groom, for sharing their wedding day, although personally I wish you'd all
stayed at home, because things would have been a lot easier on me.
I'd also like to thank you George, on behalf of the bridesmaids for your kind
words and also my personal thanks for giving me the opportunity to dress
like Lawrence Llewellyn Bowen and for finally admitting after all these
years that I am the best man.
This book tells you to start all speeches with a joke & I promise I'll start
shortly. It also says that you are the most forgiving audience & you'll
laugh at the lamest joke. Over the next 10 minutes I will be severely
testing this theory.
...I was really nervous before hand, so I prepared a few lines - and having
snorted them I'm feeling pretty good right now...
I didn't think I was going to be that nervous but believe me this is not the
first time today that I've stood up from a warm seat with a bit of pap...

headache.
In all seriousness though George, it has been a great honour to have been your
best man here today, but more importantly to have known you as a true
friend of yours over the last 14 years. I sincerely wish you the happiest of
marriages and may our friendship continue for many years to come.
I started planning this speech a few weeks ago.... & it must feel like I've
been delivering it that long. So it gives me immense pleasure, not to
mention relief, to invite you all - well those who still can - to stand.

Each speech was written as we strived to choose the right words that would have exactly the right impact on the crowd. I became more anxious as I tried to prepare myself to give my last speech. I cleared my throat and I was suddenly the first one in line. I stepped up to the microphone and began flipping through a pile of loose papers searching for the speech I had written, analyzed, read, and re-read. Just as quickly, I came across a paper with my name written across the top. I took a deep breath and began to read it aloud. My nerves were a little more at ease as I read through the text I had written. I spoke naturally and fluently just as the day before when I practiced. I took time to look into the crowd. Good afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen - My name is Steve and this is my partner in crime, Scot. We are the best men today, famed for our double act. Some people may even say we were artists, but I think you'll all realize what kind of artists we are later on this evening.
For those of you who don't know me.....I'm Misty.....Martha's friend of 17 years and her maid of honor. Martha, I just want you to know how honored I am to stand by your side on this special day. Good Evening! For those of you who don?t know me, I?m Charlotte, the very proud sister of our glamorous Bride. I want to start by congratulating Kari and Ernest, and thanking all of you for coming here today.
I did have a nice, prewritten speech. But this morning I went running and I changed it. When I woke up, I didn't do anything, I simply put on my running clothes and went running.
The main reason I wanted to make a speech was to personally say thank you to some very special people who have contributed to today:
As a citizen of Vietnam, I know that some past events shaped our country. Vietnam has a long history with China and France. It is found that there are four countries play very important parts in our history. There are China, France, Japan and the United States respectively. In this essay, the impact on the past events, which shaped the today Vietnam and interactions between Vietnam and the countries mentioned above will be discussed.
