Every living species on Earth is affected by air pollution. Approximately 6 million animals (humans, fish, mammals etc.) die each year from some type of pollution related issue. Pollution effects the respiratory system, immune system, and causes DNA mutations, and within some species, has stumped growth and reproduction. Many marine animals are in danger because of the pollution that humans have created in the world. I believe that all the trash and chemicals that we dump into the world is wrong, and that animals shouldn’t have to suffer because of humans. You should care about pollution harming marine animals because marine animal’s natural habitats are destroyed, marine animals develop health threats and because the deaths of these animals effect our ecosystem as a whole.

Pollution is causing the warming of the world, which in turn warms the waters of animals that depend on the cold atmosphere. According to the article, “Threats to Polar Bears,” the icy lands that polar bears have become so dependent upon have recently began forming much later in the fall and melting much earlier in the spring. This climate change means polar bears aren’t able to find the proper habitat to live and hunt in. Without a proper place to hunt, polar bears are forced to eat less and less which puts a hindrance in their growth and reproduction. The fact that the ice caps are forming much later and leaving earlier than before is extremely worrisome because polar bears, and many other animals that depend on these lands, will have to find alternate means to survive. Marine animals also have to deal with the high increase of acidity in water. According to Jennifer Bergman, an Atmospheric Space Science Engineer, coral reefs depend on calcium
