Andrew Jackson was not justified in instituting this policy of relocating. “Cherokees were forcibly moved west by the United States government. Approximately 4,000 Cherokees died on this forced march, which became known as the "Trail of Tears."This was the wrong thing to do because the Indians try to be fair and 5 nations were affected unfairly. White Americans treated them unfairly. Andrew Jackson was not justified in instituting this policy of relocating The Native Americans.

One reason is the Native Americans tried to be fair as possible. For example the text stated “The goal of this civilization campaign was to make Native Americans as much as white Americans as possible by encouraging them to Christianity, learn to speak and read English, and to adopt a European-style economic practices such as the individual ownership of land and other property” stated by The Trail of Tears. So the Native Americans try to be fair and do everything thing like the White Americans and are good neighbors. In the Same article, it stated, “Several states passed laws limiting Native American sovereignty and rights and encroaching on their territory”. The Cherokee took it to court instead of starting a war and were very reasonable and did not start a war like they older generations would. So Native America was fair and …show more content…

In the video Jackson Cherokee's tariffs and nullification, it stated: “1-4 Native Americans died ”. This was not fair and they were 5 nations involved so many died and they were not supplied with anything. In the article The Trail of Tears “3,500 of the 15,000 Creeks who set out for Oklahoma did not survive the trip”. Many of them dead and were not supplied with anything to survive with and it was very unreasonable. This a very unreasonable way to settle things and the Native Americans should have been dealt with
