These are the words that are a part of the slogan to the Party. This slogan often appears several of times in the novel. This slogan weakens the independence of individuals’ minds. This also forces them to live in a constant state of propaganda, and fear. The Party is able to force the citizens in London to accept anything, regardless of how illogical it really is. For example, saying 2+2 = 5. The Ministry of Peace is in charge of war, the Ministry of Love is in charge of political torture, and finally the Ministry of Truth is in charge of doctoring history books that reflects on the Party’s ideology. So far from what I have read this book has a lot of manipulation and psychological control. By saying that "War Is Peace" is saying that
