In modern society, there are millions of different kinds of groups, organizations, and classifications in societies. Sociologist have been studying the symbolic interactionism, functionalism, marxism, and class conflict throughout all of the organizations for years. It is important to know how human behavior is influenced and shaped by these concepts that creates reality in our daily lives. There are many different occupations in the work field that associate with symbolic interactionism, functionalism, marxism, and class conflict. One specific profession is commonly known as a waiter, waitress, or server. A server is exposed to symbolic interactionism every time he or she is on the clock. Symbolic interactionism is extremely common and occurs frequently in VCF. One example of symbolic interactionism is communion. The bread represents Jesus Christ’s body and the grape juice symbolizes His blood. Even though the bread and the juice is not literally a part of his body, that is what it simply symbolizes. Another example of symbolic interactionism is the cross. In Victory Christian Fellowship, there is a large cross hanging on the wall in the front of the church. The cross is not presented there to remind people that it is what He was crucified on, it is displayed there to remind people what the cross actually represents and symbolizes. It symbolizes the love that He had for us because He died for us and our sins. Functionalism is also alive in Victory Christian Fellowship. VCF recently built a new worship center. Occasionally, the leaders come across obstacles like how to run the new classes and where to have them located. Facial expressions and body gestures take a huge toll on how to interact with others. For example, if the greaters of VCF have a sad expression and depressed body language, then the members of the church are going to feel for them. Now if the greeters are happy, then the members will feel happy and blessed to be a part of the church. Emotions are contagious. A mutual language is an important skill for the pastor and the members and listeners to have. If there is no mutual language then that would cause confusion. The pastor and the members and listeners both discuss a book called The Holy Bible. Marxism also exists churches. Sometimes a member or citizen of the church could feel too powerful and try to take over when it is actually the pastor’s or God’s job. There are many different kinds of families that attend Victory Christian Fellowship. It is important for the pastor not to discriminate towards a certain kind of race or sex.
