Introduction
The Valley of the Kings or Valley of the Tombs of the Kings was an underground system of tombs that stored mummified pharaohs . Many kings from King Tut to King
Ramses desired to be buried in The Valley of the Kings. This place is located west of the Nile River (Hart). This is an elaborate system of tombs that stores kings and pharaohs .
Personal Interest
The Valley of the Kings has a system of underground hallways with tombs with traps and security that prevent tomb raiders. Tomb workers had to dig hard limestone in order to build this. Beautiful designs were carved into the walls of the tombs (Ross).
Tomb raiders died attempting to steal the riches that this system of tombs possessed.
Kings did this to keep their riches with their bodies so they would be lying their peacefully during their afterlife. They also believed to be supported during their afterlife from the designs that told stories (Hart). One of the main gods mentioned in the Valley of the Kings was the sun god Ra ("Valley of the Kings").
Description of Place
The Valley of the Kings is located west of the Nile River(Hart). Even though it is called Valley of the Kings, it also has many Queens like as well. It also consists of King
Ramses II's many sons ("Valley of the Kings"). The Valley of the Kings looks architecturally amazing on the outside and dark and mysterious on the inside containing hieroglyphic stories about the gods. It also has many designs for beauty (Ross). One of the designs was an image of the sky goddess Nut. If someone were to enter this system of tombs, he/she would enter the Way of the Sun God which was a path that contained a reservoir that would flood tomb robbers along with other protective traps. This fascinating place has much to learn about!
Conclusion
The Valley of the Kings is a very intricate system of tombs. It's designs are very complex. It has a big history and is useful today. It takes much to even describe this spectacular system of tombs. It was an absolutely awesome way to put pharaohs in tombs. The Valley of the Kings was an amazing place back then and still is.
