All consequences must be taken into consideration. This includes the bad consequences and the good consequences. Utilitarianism relies upon the theory of intrinsic value when evaluating the consequences of actions. Intrinsic value is something that is held to be good in itself. The first position on where a person can stand on the suicide continuum is the “hell no” position. Hell no you cannot commit suicide. This position believes suicide is immoral on all accounts and therefore should never be justified. People who are in favor of this position believe that suicide is never morally right and every person’s life is valued under every circumstance.
