The fashion industry and media promote unrealistic beauty standards, eating disorders and low self esteem instead of stimulating body positivity and encouraging girls and boys to embrace their flaws and imperfections. Teenagers in this generation are given false impressions through media of what the “ perfect body” looks like and is putting a tremendous strain on today’s society.
