Principles of personal development in adult and social care settings.

1.1 – Identify standards that influence the way adult social care job roles are carried out.

The basic standards that influence the way adult social care jobs are carried out are those such as -

codes of practice – which are a set of statements that explain the best way to provide care in a particular job role. Rules and regulations – staff are responsible to follow all rules and regulations given in their contract in order to provide good quality care in a safe and correct manor that protects both social users and the staff who provide the care. Also it is important to reflect on the environment of your work place and whether or not you are working with a clear knowledge and understanding of your job role and the environment and in safe way; and you can reflect on this by being able to have a clear understanding of where you are on you personal development plan.

2.3 – Describe how feedback from others has developed own knowledge, skills and understanding.

Feedback from other colleagues, management and other professionals allows us to develop and progress in our job role, and any feedback received can help correct any mistakes that may occur in our day to day role.

3.1 – Define the term “personal development plan”

A personal development plan is put in place to allow all staff in the organisation to develop in the progress to then meet the agreed standards of care. The personal development plan is a action plan based on reflection, self awareness, goal setting, and any additional training that is need to reach your own personal goals and targets and within the time frame
