Stereotypically, Americans are viewed as closed-minded, self-centered, and materialistic. On the other hand Americans can be independent, innovative, and driven and determined when completing the task at hand. Unfortunately, some of the negative characteristics of Americans outweigh the more positive characteristics. The term “Ugly Americans” (or Americans behaving badly) is suggested a great deal throughout the film by the Whitman brothers.
