Introduction
This paper discusses about the historical event that takes place within the operating system and their recent development and progression. Therefore it is essential to have a clear comprehension on the operating system that is still accessible to recognize its fundamental strengths and weaknesses. Hence, it is imperative to evaluate the operating system we are reviewing to distinguish between them. Meanwhile, this paper also inspects on the difference between the open source and proprietary operating system. The discussion is mainly about the feature and application used in different operating system.

History of UNIX
UNIX was first started off as a study development which gets involved with a few cooperative enterprises between Bell Laboratories, General Electric and MIT in 1969. Subsequently after the withdrawal of Bell Laboratories in 1969, Ken Thompson and Dennis Ritchie still hold on to the project they have built. Some claim that they required the operating system to maintain their favorite pc games. Over the past UNIX continue to develop in becoming one of the most commonly used operating system in the world despite of the reasons for building it. It all begins when Ken Thompson, Dennis Ritchie and others toiling with the “little-used PDP-7 in a junction” known as UNIX at Bell Labs in 1969. The UNIX V1 was created for text processing of clear-cut documents comes with an assembler was introduced in 1971.One of the usage of assembler is for the PDP-11/20. In 1973, UNIX V4 was altered into C language making it more movable and this transformed the history of OS. Windows RT was developed for glossy devices and for higher battery longevity, and for apps execute from Windows Store. Windows RT support touchscreens using an integral version of office.
In 2013, Windows 8.1 was released and it comes with many improvements and more new features. One of them is that it has more tractable options for looking numerous applications in one screen. Windows 8.1 is an upgrade of windows 8 that can upgraded through the app stores.
