In week 4 lesson, we had learned about type of advertising in advertising industry. There are many type of advertising in the world, not only few types. In fact, advertising is a large industry. Different types of advertising have different function and playing different role in this advertising industry. There are seven major types of advertising that we often see and hear. The first type is brand advertising, which is the most common type of advertising we usually see at Television or listen at radio. There are few types of direct respond advertising. The first type which is also the original way of direct respond advertising is direct mail. Direct mail is effective channel for small company or enterprise. Base on the research, direct mail will be read by 79%of people. Second type is using radio, television and print advertising. This are the most effective in television commercial because it can straight call in to purchase a product. The third type is Marriage mail, it is a non-expensive way to let the retailer to mail the catalog to any household. The advantage of this is can save the postage cost because your printed piece is sharing with others advertiser. Direct respond internet is the fourth type, it allow seller to give their product’s detail to consumer at internet such as Facebook, twitter and others. The last type is telemarketing, some company use telemarketing techniques to target their costumer and reach prospects with the most potential. The benefit for direct respond advertising is it needs a low amount of money to advertise your products. Next, it can test consumer responses with a small company before launching a big company.
