Tuesday's with Morrie a book by Mitch Albom is a compilations of interviews of Morrie Schwartz. Morrie Schwartz was a college professor for the majority of his life. His favorite student, Mitch, said that when he graduated he would keep in touch with his former beloved professor. However, life got in the way and it was not until years later when Mitch saw Morrie on a Nite line interview that he finally got in touch with him. Morrie had rapidly increasing ALS. Knowing this, Mitch got in touch and agreed to do interviews with Morrie every Tuesday. This book documents the life of Morrie told in his own words. In acceptance you are able to peacefully resign and know that the time has come for you to accept that you are dying. Morrie knew that he had rapid progressing ALS. However, he did not know what the next step was. This is where the nurses that took care of him came in. Their personal relationship of being with Morrie everyday helped with Morrie's psychological preparedness or how you described it as, "It is not what you are told, but how you are told." This allows Morrie to ask open questions because he feels comfortable with the people that are with him day in and day e lectures not only tie in with Morrie but Mitch as well. When Mitch saw Morrie on the television he realized the promise he never kept which was to keep in contact with Morrie. Knowing Morrie was coming to his last days, Mitch acted with reactive depression and wanted to keep that promise with Morrie to tie up that loose end.
