Tucker “Tugboat” Willis Character Analysis The Story “Big things come in small packages” By Eleanor E. Tate is about a boy named Tucker Willis. Tucker was teased and bullied because he was very short for his age. When he meets a man named Richard Etheridge he is inspired to help other people. One day he went surfing when a storm started out of nowhere. A man was on a raft and said he couldn't swim when a huge wave from the storm was coming that knocked Tucker off of his surf board. When He saved the man on the raft people stopped teasing him and he instantly became a local hero. In an interview with a local reporter he mentioned Richard but couldn't find him anywhere. Tucker also loved fishing and surfing. He was teased and called names like “squirt” and “Elf”. Tucker dad worked at the beach and Tucker and him would always sit out by the beach catching fish for hours. Tucker also had a friend named LaShana Mae. Tucker hated when he was called names. Him And LaShana would talk about what they where called and laughed even though they hated the names. When tucker met a man named Richard Etheridge he was inspired to be nice to people and they would be nice to you back. One day when Tucker was surfing when a storm suddenly appeared and a huge wave came crashing on him. Tucker was fine but a man on a raft that had teased him wasn’t. Tucker decided to save the man and was helped by Richard. After he saved the man he became a hero and the name-calling stopped. Richard was the captain of a life saving service that was on vacation where Tucker lived. When Richard met Tucker he decided to teach him an important lesson stating that he should help anyone because you never know when they could help you back. Richard helped Tucker save the man on the raft and bring him back to the beach. Richard was a huge inspiration to Tucker and helped him move
