For centuries humans have survived thanks to the ability we have to adapt. One of this amazing activities that helped us is hunting. Unfortunately as we have changed throughout time, hunting has been degenerated into what’s called Trophy hunting. Have you ever heard this phrase before? Well if you haven’t, trophy hunting is when people kill any kind of animal, simply for keeping their bodies as a souvenir for the brutal and ferocious action they’ve just committed.
Some may say that the main purpose of this activity is to have fun with family or friends, others affirm that it helps to keep a balance between species or even that it helps to keep a good economy but what about the animals? Did any of them deserve to die so that humans are no longer bored? Were they a hazard to human life? I don’t think so. So in this essay I’m going to present why Animal trophy hunting should be prohibited and removed from our lives.
First of all, why do we have the right to kill animals? Who gave us permission to do it? Animals’ lives should be respected like ours, after all we were all created with a purpose. Each one of us has the same right to live because we all form part of what is called “food chain”. For example if we had no grass what would antelopes eat? With no antelopes what would lions eat? And so on. It doesn’t make any sense to me how we are killing them not to survive but to have fun. I don’t think is fair either that because they are under us in the food chain we can do whatever we want with them, equality is for all kinds of creatures. For me, the worst part of all this hunting thing is the way guys like to brag about it. I’ve seen tons of pictures of men carrying dead deer, ducks, pigs and every other animal. I just can’t see the point of how people actually have the heart to go out there and find something so harmless and just having the need to kill it. It’s like they have this bizarre instinct where they have to feel virile and manly by showing off how they ended the life of a harmless animal.
In conclusion, there are plenty of reasons why animals deserve to live and not to be hanged in a wall. They have the same right that we have, and no one should take that away from them. As I already said trophy hunting as a sport should be banned it not only contributes to the loss of species but also it changes our whole ecosystem.

Most sources spoke about the reason for trophy hunting is mostly towards conservation. In the article, Sustainable use and incentive-driven conservation: realigning human and conservation interests, by Nigel Leader-Williams and Jon M. Hutton, stated, “As a result, successful conservation is forced to rely heavily on the incentives generated by use and, for a whole raft of reasons often including a lack of accessibility, infrastructure and charismatic species, by extractive use in particular (Leader-Williams, 2000).” But what you don’t notice is that killing endangered species to “conserve” is not the only way to conserve. During the early days of trophy hunting, dwindling numbers of some of the world’s most unique and prized wildlife was not a problem like it is today. When a trophy hunting dentist from Minnesota paid $55,000 to kill a prized African lion, he unintentionally reignited the heated debate concerning big game hunting. Wildlife conservationists and hunters debate the impact of hunting on the economy and the environment. Legal hunting can be controlled without government intervention, and the expensive sport of trophy hunting could generate a large sum of money to support conservation efforts.
Hunting is popular among American men and is a delightful pastime for a father and a son. It is not essential that Americans hunt for their food anymore, but that is not why people hunt. They hunt because it gives men a sense of serenity being out in the woods. People enjoy hunting. Those people should not have to suffer because other people like to kill other people. On the other hand, some people might actually need to hunt for food. Not everybody has enough money to feed their family big feasts every night, so they kill an animal to help cut down on the cost of their food bill.
Trophy hunting is the unnecessary slaughter of animals universally enjoyed by sportsmen around the world. The roots of trophy hunting can be traced back as early as the construction of the Transcontinental Railroad when Buffalo Bill unjustly killed 4000 buffalo in the span of 18 months. Inversely, meat hunting is the killing of animals in order to use the meat to feed a family. During the construction of the Transcontinental Railroad, the Native Americans used this tactic in order for their communities to strive. Trophy hunting should be outlawed because it is a waste of valuable resources, it can cause extinction of certain species, and it can cause the gene pool of the animal to change drastically.

With the white tailed deer having few predators and a large habitat to thrive in it is important to keep the tradition of hunting going. Besides, the real problem Anti-hunters should be focusing on is the growth of cities and communities because they are what truly hurts the deer population. Humans have been hunting practically since the beginning of time. Take a moment to look back at our country’s founding fathers and Native Americans. People in that era hunted as a means of survival. We all possess the skills of stalking prey. It’s in our blood. Hunting is automatically instilled in us being at the top of the food chain. Although looking back into history, one can also find that some hunting has diminished animal populations practically to the verge of extinction. However these facts have not gone unnoticed. The topic of hunting has always been filled with controversy, excitement and trepidation for the environment. Both sides have varies ideas as to what is wrong and right. I realize that many people do not understand why people have to hunt or why people do hunt. One of the questions that kept coming to mind is why so many people are against hunting when their ancestors hunted and without hunting many of them would not be alive today. This question is relevant because many people are becoming to be worried that animals are in pain when being hunted and that it is unfair for people to hunt selfless animals with modern weaponry, and with many people going against the right to own guns.
My fondest memories in my sixteen years on this earth is the amazing times I have had hunting and enjoying the many wonderful things the great outdoors has to offer with my family. Hunting with family is a lot of fun and is a really big group effort for us. The amount of joy and adrenaline that come from past hunts is amazing and There is a lot of preparation for us when it comes to hunting, there are a lot of things to prepare for. All of that preparation pays off in the end when you harvest a beautiful animal, and everyone is proud that you have done that. Hunting is so much fun!
