Just a few months earlier, I could not have imagined this sweet, gentle giant of a man arguing and bashing people the way that he was doing now that he was under the leadership of Elijah. It just was not Gabriel’s personality. However, Gabriel was very weak minded. He did not want to do the hard work it took to learn to lead a congregation, but he wanted the title of Moreh. He did not want to think for himself. He left a door open for Elijah to take control of what was going on in his congregation. Elijah was always starting some shit on Pal Talk! He had even begun using language that would prompt physical confrontations with other Morehs. Words like, “I’m a country, city, country boy! I am not afraid to use my country skills to kick your ass!” Elijah is a big dude and in the past he had used his height and weight to intimidate other people. We laughed at him because he never followed through on his threats. It was all for show and all the Morehs that he attempted to intimidate, would challenge him to come where they were and follow through with his threats. Honestly, the whole thing was worse than anything I had ever seen in the Christian community. One night, my young folks were listening to Pal Talk. I decided to tune in and see what kind of drama would be playing out. We heard the voice of a new man come into Gabriel and Elijah’s chat room. His name is Uzziel Blue. At the time he lived in Netivott Israel. Gabriel seemed to think that it was a very big deal to be connected with someone in Israel and he was honored by that connection. Elijah did not seem to be phased by Uzziel’s presence and he was not so honored. From the time I heard this man speak I was not at all impressed. He sounded like another Baptist minister to ... ... middle of paper ... ...ed.” Then she hung up the phone on me. There was nothing I could do to get her to talk about what was really going on with her. She was not acting like her upbeat, bubbly self. Again I was forced to let it go, there was nothing that I could do. I loved her and she knew it. That was all I could do. I went to the kitchen and made myself some steamed kale with toasted garlic cloves, quinoa and beets and of course, a cup of Green tea with agave nectar. Just as I was sitting down to eat my meal, my cell phone went off. Sheldon texted me back and told me had gotten the time off from work and he was more than happy to go for a road trip. I was so very a happy that all of my children were able to make the trip to Nashville. We had not been on a road trip together in a very long time. It was going to be so much fun! I started eating dinner and my cell phone rang again.
