What do most people think of when the name Thomas Jefferson appears in a conversation? Even though most people remember him as the third president of the United States, he has a lot more associated with him than that one title. Thomas Jefferson was one of the greatest Founding Fathers in the history of the United States. He played a major part in the American Revolution and helped shape the future of the United States by proposing ideas for the Constitution. Many individuals regard him as one of the best presidents of the United States. Thomas Jefferson, had a very complex and fascinating life in numerous aspects First, Thomas Jefferson’s early years of life are very interesting. Jefferson did not really have many concerns about God since he was a Deist (Bio, 2016) . He liked the morals that Christ taught, but he had his own beliefs about God that differed from the Bible. Consequently, his standards and morals were different from Christians of that time. he believed that African Americans were inferior compared to the white men. He also believed that blacks were not as capable as whites in the physical and mental state. He owned two large plantations. He gained control of one of these plantations through the death of his father-in-law (Shmoop, 2016). Thomas had a large number of slaves, which he put to work on his plots of land. As a result, Jefferson also received many debts because of the plantation ownership transfer. He had one daughter with his wife Martha. They named their daughter Martha. Thomas decided to build his own house at Monticello. Sometime in his life, he may have had an affair with one of his slaves, and he fathered the …show more content…

Even though he had some very dark moments in his political career and personal life, he remains as one of the greatest presidents in the history of the United States. His bravery, courage, persistence, leadership, and intellectual brightness helped guide the United States of America in some of its most formative and critical years. Even though Thomas Jefferson was not a Christian, God used this man to pave the way for a new country where individuals are free to worship Jesus freely without persecution. Individuals should look to Jefferson when considering one of the greatest leaders in the early years of America.
