Cooking is meditative which can be a way to help you calm down if you’re stressed out. It stimulates your senses and the smell of something can bring back memories. Cooking can also express your creativity, you can make our own recipe and try something new. This can also improve your self-esteem and boost your confidence. Therapeutic cooking is beneficial because it helps learn to focus and set aside problems to take a moment and enjoy yourself and the moment. It is known that cooking helps you learn how to support yourself and take care of others like a family member who may be sick. Cooking makes you feel good about yourself because you feel like you’ve accomplished something at the end and that’s a really good feeling. It gives you a goal to reach and the reward (the food) is there once you’ve reached it. Once you are done cooking take time to look back at what you’ve done and appreciate yourself.
