Theodore Roosevelt was one of the best presidents America has ever had. He was a courageous leader who led his “rough riders” into battle. He was an explorer. He was a politician. He was a great father. He was an extremely well rounded individual. He is considered a hero by many because of his leadership, his conservation, and his accomplishments. Theodore Roosevelt was a remarkable leader. Because of what he did as a leader of America, many core idealisms of Americans exist today. He led the U.S navy around the world to show off its military might, and to reveal to other countries that the United States could amass a force anywhere they so chose to fight its enemies. Additionally, he hunted all types of wild game, and catalogued hundreds of different species. The Smithsonian museum was founded because of his efforts. He won a Nobel peace prize, for negotiating a peace treaty in the Russo-Japanese war. He was a trendsetter for his day. He was the first to call the White House by that name. He was the first to host an African american to dinner in the white house. He appointed the first Jewish cabinet member, and was also the first to fly in an airplane.
