Over the past few years there has been many controversial issues taking place in our society today and Abortion is one of them. Every since having an Abortion was possible people have had conflict with others deciding whether it is right or wrong. Abortion is said to be the most debated topic by Americans and there are many debates whether you should be for pro-choice or pro-life. I believe that people should be allowed to have an abortion whenever they want for many reasons. Also the three stages of Kohlberg’s theory cover Pre-conventional morality, conventional morality, and post-conventional morality. If you were to relate this first stage of Kohlberg’s theory to Abortion kids would have to learn at a young age why abortion is good and bad. At a young age kid’s brains are developing extremely fast and it is critical to have them learn the best information possible. Abortion is a very difficult topic to bring up to children but it has to be done. Kohlberg would agree that if these kids learned out how babies were made and follow that up with a discussion with abortion it would give them just enough information to understand how careful women and men need to be. Many people believe that only the women need to worry because they are the ones having the baby, but the men are just as responsible for that child. Responsibility comes at a very young age in peoples lives and when kid’s brains are developing they can take an enormous amount of information and Abortion needs to be part of it. Which takes place when you reach a learning peak in your life normally at an old age. This is the stage where people will express their viewpoints on certain things and not worry about what others think of there opinion on a specific topic. This ties into the Abortion argument because even though you may be old and not be worried about having children, you can still influence other people’s opinions whether they should be pro-life or pro-choice. Many people in older generations believe in pro-life this was because their parents generation never really even thought of having an Abortion. So as they were young they did not even know or learn that an Abortion was a thing which they believed most of their lives. If our generation learns more about the pros and cons of having an Abortion they will be able to make smarter decision prior to having a child and also make the right call when they unfortunately might be better off having an Abortion. Many people as they reach this post-conventional stage they want their families to grow and not see their family name disappear, so they encourage and pressure the younger generations to have children even though they might not be ready for
