With minimal clothing, scraps for food, and being treated as pests, the Jews of Europe were being executed by the thousands during World War II. They were being persecuted simply for being a Jew. Running and hiding didn’t do much good. They were sought out only to be taken to a camp filled to the brim with both children and adults alike. Here they would be over-worked, underfed, and ultimately killed. They Holocaust caused more suffering that even the strongest man could endure physically, mentally, and emotionally. Who began the Holocaust? To put it simply, Adolf Hitler. He rose to power in 1933 when he became the Chancellor of Germany. Hitler hated the Jews so much, to the point where he was fueled to kill them without a conscience. Hatred like this still exists in our world today. Technology has advanced so far, that mass bombings is becoming easier what with all the rockets and nuclear bombs. Due to the dictatorship in Germany, people were afraid to step out of their comfort zone and speak out against the wrong-doings against the Jews. Understandably, they were worried for their family and themselves. Of course, during the end, when the British and American governments stepped in, it became easier to resist the harshness of the Nazis. The people began to step up for what is right and speak for the brutally oppressed. They came together to fight against the injustice. Because the hurt of this revolting war is still boiling so close to the surface, it would be highly unlikely that another reign like this would break out anytime soon. Keeping in mind that history tends to repeat itself, the people of the world would realize this and stand up against evil.
