The Stress Model we have chosen is the Double ABCX Model. This model is suitable for our movie family because we are able to see the problems that the family has faced. The model encompasses the major variables of interest in the movie, including our pre-crises, crises, and post crises. We can see this in the first marriage, the divorce, and the second marriage; as well as everything in between. Many of the stressors are found in many categories. This is because they were not resolved by the crisis- divorce. Resources fall into many categories as well, because how they are used changes how they affect the family system. a 1- Fast marriage (eloped)- Nick and Elizabeth met, and wed, while crossing the Atlantic Ocean while on the Queen Elizabeth 2 (QE2). …show more content…

She has been there from the time the twins were born. She demonstrates great support for reuniting the family.
2- Elizabeth’s father is also a great resource. Even though he plays a minimal part, he shows continual support for Elizabeth and Nick’s re-kindled relationship.
3- Family traditions can also be a good resource. In the movie, it shows that Nick and Hallie have a long-standing tradition of going camping. Annie seems eager to participate in this tradition as well. This can be a great bonding activity for the reunited family to spend quality time and get to know each other better.
CC 1- The perception of the movie is the parents now need to better focus on the family and create an open flow of communication between the two of them. While the parents learn how to communicate with their spouse and how to raise another child, they will face changes to the prior family structure.
2- There will also be improvement of a newly reconstructed family structure. Since the structure has been split in half for so long, one girl with the father and the other girl with the mother, the twins will need to learn how to have a sibling, and how to have both parents to parent
