The Seventh Tower
Plot Summary
This book is a Science fiction book that is the fist of a series of books called The Seventh Tower. It starts out with a boy by the name of Tal Graile-Rarem receiving word that his dad was missing on a mission that he was doing for the queen. And that is when every thing goes down hill. This is because his dad has the only good sunstone that will allow Tal to pass into the world of Aerian. Aerian is the world where a boy goes to receive his spirit shadow when he turns fourteen. Right now he as what is called a shadow guard, the shadow guard is his actually shadow only it can independently take shape into different things, what ever is needed to be to protect Tal when he gets into trouble. The thing is he need to get a spirit shadow when he turn fourteen other wise he will lose a shadow all together and not be a chosen and more. This will make him a commoner and he will have to live at the cave at the bottom of the mountain.
So now Tal needs to go and find him a new sunstone powerful enough to be able to enter him into the Aerian. There were only three ways to do this the first one was to ask for one from his Aunts who had more than one of them and was in a higher order. But for some unknown reason they had a grudge against Tal’s father and would not give him one. The next possible way to get a stone was to win one at the achievements. These were events that took place where people could enter to win sunstones. After quickly looking over the events Tal decided to try to win one in the achievement of agility. But some thing bad happened when he went on the day of event his name was not on the schedule for when it was his turn to race the opstickal course. When he went to the desk to ask what had happen he found out that his name was signed up for a different achievement it was the achievement of music. So now he had to participate in that when it was all done he ended up getting second place and not winning.
Now there is only one way left for him to get a sunstone and that was to climb up one of the towers and past though the black nothing ness to the top where sun stones can be found. Everything was going well he had maid it to the top and then all of a sudden this shadow guarding came out and began to attack him. As he did this it caused Tal to lose his footing and he fell off. ...tarts the big adventure off. This was a bit unbelievable though, but that is because this book is science fiction so most of the things in this book are things that would not happen in real life. Tal reacted to this event, bye doing what his any other normal boy in his world would do he depended on his shadow for help.
Theme
The theme of this story is courage and being out on your own. I know the theme is courage because of all the things and difficulties that Tal had to go through. Also going out on the quest makes him leave the castle and the protection of the parents. He did so tenitively but when it came time to have courage he had it. This is not really a theme that I can identify with be cause I have never really been off on my own before, for more than like three days.
Recommendation
I would recommend this book to those people who like to read science fiction books. I like this book because it always kept you hanging and always made you want to keep reading ahead. The only bad thing is that this book is one of those books where the story does not end the quest that the boy is on doesn’t get finished so u have to by the book to find out what happens next.
These feelings drive O’Brien to seek out a journey in order to find out what is truly valuable to his self being. His adventure of self-knowledge mirrors the narrative archetype of the Hero’s Quest. One might argue that as a result of O’Brien’s uncooperative nature towards his circumstances, he is able to pursue the main motive of the Hero’s Journey, in which he departs from his ordinary world and is able to obtain the life treasure of self-acknowledgement. Tim O’Brien begins his journey as a young “politically naive” man and has recently graduated out of Macalester College in the United States of America. O’Brien’s plan for the future is steady, but this quickly changes as a call to an adventure ruins his expected path in life.

Secrets are hard to keep, as clues spill out from the unexpected. Nore Roberts, a girl from the North, moves to Shadow Grove to live with her new family. She discovers that they will never age on as early as day two, as breaking into the storage cabin was only to prove to her dad they were all older than he was. Using clues given to her from information dropped casually, Nore pieces together the mystery of Shadow Grove.
In summary, one will find this book to be an exciting read. There was an original plot, a female lead, and character development to appeal to all types of readers. After reading this science fiction novel, one will know to keep their friends close and their enemies closer.
I thought that this book was awesome and exciting to read. Mainly because it was research and the author?s reasoning of what it would be like in the year 2001 was very close. For example, colonizing the moon will probably happen within my lifetime and wireless newspapers have already happened (both of these were done in the 2001: A Space Odyssey). The character?s train of thought was not erratic (unlike the movie National Treasure) and was very rational. The climax never really ends in this book, but it continues on the rest of the series. I especially liked when the author went back in time three million years to begin the story, because it suggested the idea that our rise in intelligence was not an accident adds to the climax. The story is well thought up and pieces together nicely without any plot holes.
My opinion of this novel is that it was a good book. If I personally had to pick a book to read it would not be my first choice. But overall I had an easy time reading this book and it actually meant something so it wasn’t too bad. At the end I was satisfied for the time read.
I really enjoyed this book, it was a good escape. When I was reading this book I felt like I was in a different world, I felt like I was in their world. The author just wrote it in a way that everything that happens feels real. Overall this was a very good book.
8.Recommendation: I wouldn’t recommend this book for anyone to read because it’s quite boring and very confusing in some parts of the story. Well it’s confusing to me and it’s like the most weirdest book I have ever read. Someone who likes to read novels or read in general would like this book because or if they like this genre they would like this
Frodo and Sam lower down on an elf rope, Sam isn’t very good in that and drops a piece of bread. When Frodo tried to catch it he fell down. It didn’t hurt him because there were only a few more meters. During the night they caught Gollum who wanted them to give him the ring of Power. Sam thought that Gollum only want to kill them, but Frodo knew that the creature Gollum was the person Sméagol a long time ago.
There are many themes that occur and can be interpreted differently throughout the novel. The three main themes that stand out most are healing, communication, and relationships.
The Tower of London arose as a result of the fight concerning who would succeed King Edward the Confessor as the next King of England. King Edward had initially promised William I, the Duke of Normandy, that he would have the throne upon King Edward's death. However, upon his deathbed, he was persuaded to relinquish the throne to his brother-in-law Harold, Earl of Wessex, who was English. This enraged Duke William, who led his army into England from France to obtain what he considered was his rightful throne. He easily defeated Earl Harold at the Battle of Hastings and was crowned King of England on Christmas Day. However, Duke William-who was now called King William the Conqueror-was in a country that was largely hostile toward him. In order to provide protection for himself, he built wooden forts across the country. Realizing that he needed a more permanent structure to show the English he was there to stay, and in case of a large attack, he decided to build a fortress to protect himself.
I would recommend this book to anybody, it appeals any audience. It's a wonderful story
The book, which has a very intresting plot, is a hard book to read. I liked this book for many reasons, but I also disliked it. Mario Puzo, trying to make the book as realistic as possible, had the speech in the book sound like a bunch of nonsense. The characters in the book, sounded very uneducated and it took some effort to think about what they meant and were trying to say. I guess it would be easier to watch the story on the television, but reading it is very confusing. I rarely ever read for pleasure, and I guess I picked the wrong book to try it out with. This book had me very frustrated with the language, and it took me a couple of times to get what was going on in the story.
The Tower of London, in central London, has a gloomy past. There was bloodshed, ghosts, wars, imprisonment, torture, and jewels. The Towers past maybe dark and gloomy but the history surrounding it is fascinating.
