The role of the educational worker is to work in partnership with the teacher to support an effective learning environment for the students. The education worker or teacher’s aide should have a clear understanding of what the teachers learning intention or plan is so to prepare the activity and environment in a way that will support the learning for the activity. When talking about a learning environment we are not just talking about the classroom. The learning environment can be in many different forms including the playground, gym, Computer Room, Library etc. Therefore it is important to be familiar with all these areas.
The education worker will also be required to assist in the preparation and setting out classroom resources and equipment as directed by the teacher. Hen doing so the education worker will need to ensuring that the rules and procedures of health and safety are ahead to as well as knowing where the school stores the equipment’s and resources and having some knowledge and understanding of how the equipment works before using them for planned activities. …show more content…

All the children should receive the same consideration, respect, interest, support and understanding, and it is also important that the education worker role models appropriate and desired behaviours for the children. Communicating effectively with children is important to build an effective relationship.
