Big Brother essay Technology is being used to spy on people more, it’s also being used to harm and kill people around the world. Technology is also being used to influence people to believe things that government may want us to believe. As technology is gradually advancing it’s also taking us to the world that George Orwell designed in his book 1984. , As technology is helping us get information almost instantly, it is also isolating people because we would rather get information from the Internet and therefore start to rely too much on technology. Their reality is built based on the information they obtain from there. However, is the information true? People live their lives bound by what they accept as correct and true, that is how people define reality. But what does it mean to be correct or true? Merely vague concepts, their reality may all be an illusion. This is becoming increasingly true as the government continues to manipulate the information made available to the public. In the book 1984 by George Orwell it says “who controls the past controls the future, who controls the present controls the past”(Orwell pg37). This quote explains that whoever controls what can be said about the past can change the outcomes that occur as a result of what they choose to say about it.
