We are offering the newest robotic technology to our facility. When making a significant change to an organization, such as a change in operations, there are several factors that come in to play. It is important to identify and distinguish each factor that are integral in the process. This way it is easier to know how important every area is to ensure the best care possible for our patients.

Externally, the government plays a vital role in the health care industry. They place certain rules and regulations along to make sure the organization is doing what is required of them. The government is also involved with the process of licensing the facilities and their equipment. This makes sure that the patients remain safe. A robotic surgery unit will be beneficial to healthcare providers and insurance providers. Though the surgery is covered by insurance agencies, to some extent, the price is significantly higher. This robot will cause less blood loss and more accurate surgery performances. This allows for patients to have a lowered stay at hospitals, and in some cases being released the same day. The cost that would be paid for hospital stays is no longer used, and can be used to pay for the surgery. This is advantageous to the insurance agency and the patient. Creditors are entities that provide services such as monetary loans. Integrating robotic surgery would require taking at a loan to cover the cost, asking more of the creditors. These are some of the impacts that this new robotic technology would have on some of our external stakeholders. For our internal stakeholders, the impacts are numerous. For the board, it would take them coming together to formulate a plan to ensure that this new technology gets integrated, and placing individuals in the right positions to ease the process. Along with that, they would also need to make sure the required financial needs were met and obtained to allow this all to take place. The Chief Executive Officer would also have to be involved in these processes, as it is his/her job to oversee and to set the organizations strategy and direction. There are two types on stakeholders who are internal and external. Internal stakeholder involves employees, managers/directors and shareholders/owners. External stakeholder involves suppliers, customers, government, trade unions, pressure groups and local and national communities.
The Da Vinci Surgical System is a large purpose-built robot controlled by a surgeon that performs minimally invasive surgical procedures on patients. The system incorporates an ergonomically designed surgeon's console, a patient-side module with four interactive robotic arms, each with interchangeable surgical instruments and a 3-dimensional endoscopic vision system. Powered by high-tech supercomputers, the surgeon's hand movements are scaled, filtered and then converted into precise movements of the surgical attachments. I chose the Da Vinci Surgical system as my topic because I am interested into going to physical therapy or into the orthopedics field after undergrad. Surgical equipment is highly important due to the hundreds of accidents that happen and also the high percentage of diseases. As these incidents occur it is important to consider the safety of the patient when it comes to cutting into their bodies. With the invention of the Da Vinci Surgical system it helped with vision and different viewpoints of the patient’s body and also improves precision. It is important to have a machine or tool for more than one type of surgery, one to use on patients with different injuries or diseases. Overall, this surgical system helps improve and help further research how precise and how in control a surgeon can be.
The use of supplies is a problem because we are spending too much money on them. We are a world-renowned hospital with very high-end robots and equipment. Therefore, our surgeons demand the best and the higher valued machines and supplies. Cost and quality need to be considered. We do not want the quality of care for the patients to be jeopardized because of inadequate planning in regards to low quality supplies (Sullivan, 2009).

Stakeholders can be divided as internal (managers and employees) and external (shareholders, customers, and suppliers) (BPP F9). Different stakeholders may have common interests or conflict interests with company. Company board members or management must take care about stakeholders’ interest. They can’t make the decision based on their own interest or their relation with others organisation. Conflict of interest will arise when interests of organisation act in concert with managers’ personal interests or interests of another person or organisations, (Anon, no date).
