INTRODUCTION
Literature is a creative art by the literary artist. Literature is the expression of the things in the innovative way. According to C.S. Lewis, “Literature adds to reality, it does not simply describe it. It enriches the necessary competencies that daily life requires and provides; and in this respect, it irrigates the deserts that our lives have already become”. Literature is the reflection of the human experience; it defines the life experience of several ages. Literature reflects the world of reality as well as the imagination and our love. Literature can be classified according to the historical periods, genres, and political influences. The great literary work of art can withstands over the time. In present scenario, the literature was to entertain the readers and those values of withstanding by time was discarded. The function of literature has come to express the hopes and aspiration of society. The exposure of first book won her the companionship from the Virginia Centre for the Creative Arts. Anita Nair’s first novel Better Man in 2000 also published in Europe and United States. Her second novel Ladies Coupe in 2001 also brings her the great fame and name. It bought her the great success among the critics. In 2002 Ladies Coupe was elected as one among the best five novels in India and it was translated in twenty five languages around the world.
