With a population of less than 10,000 the red panda is listed vulnerable on the endangered species list. “The red panda has small cat like features but markings like a panda or a raccoon (Bearlife). “The red panda lives in Asia its habitat ranges include central China, Nepal, Myanmar, and Bhutan (Bearlife).”Reasoning for red pandas becoming endangered is habitat destruction. “Once living in many parts of Asia, the red panda is now confined to parceled territories that collectively are a fraction of its original habitat (Bearlife).” The red panda is a beautiful and magnificent creature. But sadly it is dying off that is good reasoning for humans to take matters into their own hands by making the Panchthar-Ilam-Taplejung Red Panda protected forest.

The red panda lives eats and raises its young in the forest mountain terrains of western Asia. It lives in central China, Nepal, Myanmar, and Bhutan. “Red pandas live in cool temperate bamboo forest in Sichuan, Yunnan, and Xizang provinces in China (National Zoo).” “ Red pandas eat bamboo leafs and fresh shoots as well as berries, blossoms, and birdlegs( national zoo)." The red panda has a lifespan just about as long as a rabbit, 8-12 years but sometimes they can live to be fifteen. "The red pandas young stay inside the nest for about 90 days, they stay close to their mothers until the next mating season begins and they reach adult size at about 12 months(national zoo)."

Habitat destruction is the main killer of red pandas today. There are 6 habitat destruction processes. One process is cash cropping. Over the past few years cash cropping has made a lust for more land so many people have been cutting down forests and using it for farmland. Next of the six is...
