In this day there seems to be many people protesting, a lot of the media’s view on protest seem to show the bad in protesting (at least this is what I see) in which they should people are interested in it and there seems to be a lot of stories to go around. In the most talked about protest it seems like many people lose common sense in these protests i'll give Charlotte's town as an example of how out of hand some protests can be, “Three people are dead and at least 33 injured after a series of violent clashes erupted at a white-nationalist rally in Charlottesville” (From Daily Intelligencer article) besides that “Two state troopers were also killed when their helicopter, which had been assisting with the police response to the rally, …show more content…

But not all protests end up like this (The Charlottesville protest was an extreme case), Doing this research showed me there are Protest that were peaceful that go under the media coverage almost undetected but they do still have an effect, I will talk about more good and bad protests as well as other ways to protest and ending it all in the pros and cons of …show more content…

There are a few paths people can go down that will have an effective in helping a cause a good example in my mind are group or mass petitions “Group or mass petitions are written requests or supplications seeking the redress of a specific grievance, signed by a large number of individuals or by a smaller number of individuals acting on behalf of organizations, institutions or constituencies.” (Group or Mass Petitions) an example of a cause that is using partitions is Net Neutrality, from what I could find here on some stats “Federal Communications Commission received over 2 million comments urging to keep a free and open internet.” (Collins, Terry.) on top of all that “Fight for the Future said protesters sent over 5 million emails and made some 124,000 calls to Congress asking to protect current regulations.” It made quite a raucous added up with of the other methods of protesting, one of the best methods to draw attention to this cause is how they got/had celebrities/internet celebrities made videos or do segments on their show, just to name a few we got “Collegehumor, John Oliver, Bernie Sanders and Tay Zonday” (Future, Fight for
