In many ways, McDonald’s is the model business empire. All-American food, speedy service and a perceived value for money all go some way to explaining why the giant corporation continues to pack in diners to its restaurants every day. Nothing seems to dent the popularity of the mighty Big Mac, even under the pressure of harsh criticism that golden arch still stands tall. Recently there have been many outstanding acquisitions that McNuggets are made of pink slime. “Jamie Oliver demonstrated how meat scraps and sinew are spun in a centrifuge and “washed” with ammonium hydroxide, which has also become known as Pink Slime.” (Michelle Schoffro Cook) Although it has never been proved to be one-hundred percent true there are also some videos that were released that shows how they are made. The “MBX” was a 4.5-ounce burger launched mainly to compete with Burger King’s “Whopper”. The McCancer is just one of the food items on the McDonalds menu that contains noxious chemicals that get called ingredients. McDonalds is dangerous though in more than just burgers and buns. The chicken nuggets contain Silly Putty plastic or dimethylpolysiloxan (Breyer). Eight syllable words may be ok in plastic toys, but food that is consumed daily by millions? McDonalds must stop putting poison in food, and the only way that way the criminal company will do that is if people make a stand. People need to make others aware of the inhumane processes the food goes through, and the unbelievable amount of toxins in the food as well.

This story began with two brothers Dick and Mac McDonald who owned and ran a small restaurant in San Bernardino, California during the 1940s. In 1954 a man named Ray Kroc came across these two brothers while selling multi-mixers and was impressed with the business they were running. The menu was compact, listing options for only a few burgers, fries and beverages, but the restaurant was effective in its operation. Ray Kroc pitched the idea of spreading McDonald’s restaurants across the United States and in 1955 he founded the McDonald’s Corporation. By 1960 he bought the exclusive rights to the name. McDonalds provide high quality products, such as burgers, fries, drinks, muffins, etc, which are safe and reliable that it does what it is supposed to do, but not only does the quality of the products matter, the good value for money affects the business. E.g. buy one extra value meal and get one free with a food voucher that represents the offer only. They ensure that a high standard of the product is carried out at all times and they try to compete very competitively with other fast food businesses with their good value for money. Also a customer would know if the product is good value for money by checking in another food outlet like KFC for their services and products.
In today’s market, McDonalds faces numerous challenges such as fierce competition, a more health conscious customer, and the continual need for improved customer satisfaction and menu. McDonalds needs to go through some changes in order to remain ahead in the fast-food industry.

It is one of the world’s largest fast food restaurant chains. McDonald’s economies of scale allow for bulk purchase of products, faster growth, specialized management, and franchise support.
