Habin Abdul Mrs. Sakellarides English 1 Part 2 04/01/2018 This is a character analysis from the play, Romeo and Juliet, written by William Shakespeare. I believe it to be about love and tragedy. I will do a character analysis on the Nurse who assists Juliet with her marriage to Romeo. Nurse helps and encourages Juliet with secret meetings seeing Romeo and the actual getting married to Romeo. The Nurse is a big part of Juliet’s life. She has been around since Juliet was a born. She is her caretaker. They have a close relationship and is important to Juliet. She is one of the few people who knew of Juliet’s love for Romeo. Romeo goes to see Juliet and they exchange verbal vows and the Nurse protects Juliet by calling her inside when she thinks someone is coming. The Nurse is sent by Juliet to find Romeo the night after their first kiss. The Nurse questions his love, but Romeo satisfies Nurse, Romeo says, “Nurse, commend me to thy lady and mistress. I protest unto thee.” The Nurse finds Romeo to be truthful. Says to Romeo, “Good heart, and, I’ faith, I will tell her as much: Lord, Lord, she will be a joyful woman.” The Nurse heads back to let Juliet know she approves of Romeo and that helps Juliet decide to marry him. …show more content…

“Then hie you hence to Friar Laurence’ cell; There stays a husband to make you a wife:” The nurse even helps to set up for their wedding night. She is supportive of Juliet because it’s what Juliet desires. The Nurse thought it was in haste and that Juliet wasn’t ready or knew what love was. Given so, the Nurse gave into Juliet. The Nurse says, “To fetch a ladder, by the which your love, must climb a bird’s nest soon when it is dark:” The ladder is for Romeo to climb up to Juliet’s room, so they can spend their wedding night
