The Dhammapada
Buddhism is viewed as the way of life and a way of finding peace within yourself by those who follow the teaching of it. Buddhist teaching goes off from the four noble truth which are all life entails suffer, suffering is caused by desires, when you remove all desires you remove suffering, and to remove your suffering you do it through the Noble Eightfold Path. The Noble Eightfold Path is basically about focusing the mind and being aware of your thoughts, actions, and gaining wisdom though understanding of the Four Noble Truth. The Dhammapada is guideline Buddhist use in order to live a joyful life free from suffering, the book teaches Buddhist to focus on the mind. He was born the son of warrior-caste parents. He was born accompanied by promising spiritual signs and a wise man predicting that he will be a universal monarch or a great ascetic. In his youth years Shakyamuni lived as a prince in his royal palace. Around his 20s Shakyamuni went to the forest were he followed his spiritual life by meditation. After many years under the Bodhi tree he acquired enlightenment and went to teach everything he gained from meditation which are the Four Nobel Truth. He taught that Buddhist believe that the all life entails is suffering, full of painful moments and that is the reality of life and instead of feeling gloomy about it Buddhism teaches you to except it and ways you can avoid suffering and truly be joyful. The cause of all these suffering is desires and hatred. The longing to have something and the expectation we hold people up to causes suffering. When you do not acquire what you craved and the expectation you held were not met you will get very disappointed causing some type of suffering. Even if you happen to get what you want and your expectation were met that does not guarantee you happiness because you will never stop wanting more or holding higher expectation of others. Suffering can be prevail over. If you dispose of impractical desires and anticipation and just live life without dwelling in the past or envisioning the future, then you can become exultant.
