The movie Inside Out (USA): Pixar Studios is a beautiful movie for all ages that is worth watching because it has valuable lessons on the struggles of growing up and dealing with different rapidly changing emotions. The movie starts with the main character named Riley being born with her first emotion: Joy, then later Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness show up. All five, work together in what is called, “Headquarters”, the control center inside Riley’s mind. Pixar and Disney did a wonderful job, they made our emotions into a person that drive us, like in our own self. This is an extraordinary movie for various reasons. Throughout the whole movie from beginning to end, family is the most important thing to Riley. But that doesn’t just happen automatically. It takes a lot of work from both Riley’s mother and father. When Riley first opens her eyes, those are the first faces she sees. In the movie, memories are stored in sphere shaped crystals. Almost every memory is a happy memory that was made possible with the help of her parents. As parents, there can be lots of things that can interrupt their time with being and seeing their children blossom. One of the major ones is their jobs or careers. In Inside Out, this isn’t the case, it seems like Riley’s parents always made time to be and create memorable memories with their daughter. Even though at a point in the movie, things get very tense between the three, they were all able to get together and talk about it, therefore, bonding and creating an even stronger relationship. Inside Out does a spectacular job at showing us how important family is. Showing that at a young age, we don’t control and manage our emotions too well yet. All five can work in the same place, but aren’t able to share moments or don’t let Riley have more than one emotion at the same time. Sadness was especially left out the most. Everyone thought she was sort of bad for Riley. Whenever sadness would get involved, the memories would instantly turn sad. She was like that bad vibe that’s always negative in the group of friends. But this completely changes as the movie progresses and Joy realizes that Sadness is needed for the happiness and well-being of Riley. In the movie, something happens and Joy and Sadness are both sucked out of “Headquarters” through a tube that transports memories. This creates panic and turmoil for the other emotions. Finally Anger basically takes over and Riley decides to run away from her parents and move back to her small town in the mid-west. Joy finds a way to get Sadness and her up to “Headquarters”. When they reach Headquarters, Joy makes Sadness touch some of the happy memories and they Riley begins to feel sad about the choice she is making and decides to return to her family. At home both her parents are aroused because they can’t find their daughter.
