The book The Maze Runner Scorch Trials shows the idea of hope because Thomas and His friends have a rough Journey through the scorch, and they all seek for hope. Thomas and his friends are on a journey through the scorch(desert), and are supposed ro reach the mountains to recieve the vaccine, for the virus, but there Journey isnt all that easy. On page 34 ir states "“each one of you has already caught the virus.”He quickly held up his hands to cut off the rumblings that started. “Now, now! No need to worry—the Flare takes a while to set in and show symptoms. But at the end of these Trials, the cure will be your reward” This quote states that all of Thomas's friends and Thomas have the virus but they much go through the scorch trials to reach
“Inside every cynic is a disappointed idealist.” This quote by George Carlin perfectly outlines the reasons why many people are bitter toward the world in their everyday lives. While cynicism is justified for those who have had a tough life, countless people become exceedingly pessimistic because life didn’t meet their expectations.. An example of this would be Holden Caulfield from J.D. Salinger’s “Catcher in the Rye”. Salinger does an admirable job of portraying how Holden’s attitude leads to a massive downward spiral. When a person holds too high of standards for the world around them, it can lead to an unrelenting undue criticism of people around them and even hypocrisy.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once stated, "I am not interested in power for power’s sake, but I’m interested in power that is moral, that is right, and that is good,” and a character from "Lord of the Flies" applies to this, and his name is Ralph. He symbolizes civilization within William Golding's allegory. First off, he brought up the idea of designated chief to lead the survivors, rather than anarchy. Also, being elected by most of the survivors and they trusted him to help them. Concerning the idea of being rescued, he constantly enforces the idea of the fire. The idea is for someone not on the island see the boat and to leave the island. Due to that, Ralph places a rule of having a fire constantly on. This rule, along with the many others
I have always loved to read. While most children prefer watching television, I would rather read a book. About two years ago I read the book The Maze Runner, by James Dashner. After reading this book, I realized just how much Christ effects literature. I learned that we can see aspects of Christ in books written by secular authors. You can find Christian allegories that the author didn’t even realize they were writing.
“Earth is abundant with plentiful resources. Our practice of rationing resources through monetary control is no longer relevant and is counter-productive to our survival.” - Jacque Fresco. Lord of The Flies explores how a group of boys ultimately become savage after trying to ration resources. In William Golding’s Lord of the Flies, a group of English boys are shot down while on a plane that crash lands onto an Island during World War II, where without any adults must survive on their own. They must overcome themselves and figure out how maintain a successful society. Through characterization and symbolism, William Golding asserts that man is innately savage and must be controlled through a civilized society.
Redemption is defined as the action of saving or being saved from sin, error, or evil. Throughout life, individuals are faced with numerous incidences of redemption that can be taken up or ignored. Those who choose to take the opportunity are often able to grow mentally and accelerate much further than those who do not. However, what must be taken into account is that true redemption is for oneself rather than for others. For example, redemption by finally getting a well-deserved promotion which impresses others is not truly beneficial redemption. What must occur is happiness for the promotion within. In The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini, the employment of redemption as a central idea prevails throughout the novel, specifically in the life
Change your perspective, try to see the positive and negative effects on an individual’s certain environment or situation. People can go through very difficult situations and come out completely different, but some people with strong mind can go through hardships and still stay the same. Whether it can be being abused or ultimately being thrown onto an island with no civilization. An individual can control the situation and environment only if they have a willing spirit.

Q: “Please, Holden. Please let me go. I’ll be very, very, very- You won't even- You're not going… You really aren't going anywhere? Are you going home afterwards? Yeah” (Salinger 227 and 233).
A group of kids got stuck on an island after their plane got shot down and they all have many different personalities. Being stuck on an island usually brings out the worst of people. But, there were two characters in novel, “The Lord of The Flies” that had good morals. These two characters were Ralph and Simon. Ralph and Simon weren’t intimidated by not having any adults around, instead, they tried to bring out the best of themselves and not take part in any horseplay the rest of the boys did.
Loyalty is one of the only things that can hold the bonds of family and friends.
He showed them the scares on his hands and feet. He said to them, "This is
The Maze Runner is a 2014 mystery/science fiction film that can be viewed from an archetypal perspective. An archetype can be described as a pattern that can and is copied and recurring symbols or characters. The concept of archetypes came from Carl Jung a psychiatrist who believed that all cultures use archetypes to build stories without communicating to each other about them. Two groups of archetypes are the character and symbolic archetypes. The film The Maze Runner should be analyzed through an archetypal perspective because it has character and symbolic archetypes.
In the book, The Lord of the Flies written by William Golding, when the book states, “What are we? Humans? Or animals? Or Savages?” (91), this quote shows the author is trying to give the message that in our society, we tend to act as humans, and at the same time, animals. For example, in December 1955 until December 1956, a woman named Rosa Parks had inspired many people to peacefully protest the lack of civil rights for the African Americans of her time by not riding the public buses because African Americans were forced to sit in the back of the bus; therefore, behind all of the white people. Rather than leading violent riots about the issue, she chose to find a peaceful solution, unlike white nationalists in Charlottesville, Virginia
When Amir finds out that Baba has been concealing that Hassan is his brother and he becomes angry and disappointed. Amir says “It's wrong what they say about the past, I've learned, about how you can bury it. Because the past claws its way out.” on page 1. He says this because he knows how they effect life and people and since in the first chapter he is looking back on life, then Baba's secret is related into this quote as well. This qoute shows how Amir feels about his fathers secret. Amir describes the secret as clawing and that shows his distaste and hatred. Later Amir refers back to when his father taught him that theft was the most vile crime any man can commit and realises that his father had stole Amir's right to know he had a brother as well as Hassan's identity.
The novel The Maze Runner by James Dashner begins with a teenage boy waking up in an elevator who has no memory of the past, only that his name is Thomas. When the doors of the elevator open up he is pulled into a humongous square surrounding, called the Glade, by a group of teenage boys. The boys in the Glade refer to themselves as the ‘Gladers’. Thomas learns that the Gladers have lived in there for two years and that the Glade is located in the center of a maze which contains a labyrinth of high walls that move during the night and deadly creatures called grievers. The Glade is led by two boys, Alby and Newt; they both maintain order in the Glade by enforcing strict rules and jobs that keep the Gladers busy. A day after Thomas’ arrival an unknown girl arrives in the Glade. This shocks everyone because the Gladers only receive a new person every month, never within the same week. This also shocks everyone because she was the only girl in a maze full of boys. The girl also gives a message that everything is going to change and that she is the last one ever. Right after her message she immediately falls into a coma. The arrival of the girl causes many things to go chaotic including the sun seizing to rise, the Gladers stop receiving supplies from the creators of the maze, and the doors of the Glade that protect the Gladers from the grievers at night stop closing. When the girl, Teresa wakes up she informs Thomas that they both knew each other in the past and that the maze was a code. Thomas and the people who run around the maze to map out the labyrinth, the runners, look through the archives of the maps and find out the code. Then the leader of the runners, Minho, figures out that the cliff they thought was just a cliff was actua...
