Mozart is one of the most influential composers of our time. Till this day he still has changed our views on music, interpreting it in new ways. There are several composers who have this effect, yet Mozart stands out the most in one area, his death. Many theories have been started about how he had died yet many historians have argued against, thinking otherwise. Making this and still is a very controversial topic on what may have happened. Mozart’s death was by far the most searched up and mentioned in any topic related to him, especially since it seemed so sudden. Yet there are several theories surrounding Mozart's death and why it may be several rather than one. One of the theories involves his family and how his travels may have affected his health later on making him bedridden. As a child Mozart traveled several times in order to financially support his family in need of money. This type of long distance travels were very dangerous and each city lacks hygiene which was not the best case scenario for anyone traveling: “bearing in mind the state of hygiene and the dangers from infection in the close confines of coach travel and in the infested inns of the cities”. Mozart’s personal physician, Thomas Franz Closset came to a final conclusion that he died of acute miliary fever. This included high fever and physically tiny red bumps that blistered the skin. The data from the 1800s showed that this was a common cause of death. Then again researchers saw that Mozart’s sickness was so sudden but he was not fully healthy since he had malise(back pain and rash). As an ancient strategy to let out the illness in Mozart’s boyd his doctor Dr. Closset bled him then ordered a cold compresses be placed on his head but shortly made him go into shock. The he remained in this coma until he passed. At the end he was, “pouting his cheeks to breathe, which we can assume that Mozart was in acute respiratory distress, probably due to acute pulmonary edema”. Slowly the illness began to take a worst turn for Mozart and ended up passing away. Dr. Zegers, an ophthalmologist at the University of Amsterdam, said that many of the descriptions of all the symptoms can never be clarified especially since most of them have similar characteristics. Then another illness that may of been the cause of Mozart’s death would be Trichinosis since he used to enjoy pork cutlet. Trichinosis was fairly common, but it was only a theory since his last illness could not fit in with these symptoms. Yet then again, he suffered a total of several illnesses
