Once upon a time, there was a rich king who had three sons that he loved with all his heart. The king, however, was a very strict parent and required that his demands be followed precisely by his sons. One day the three princes left their grand palace and went off to the town without their father's permission. Unable to hide their little trip from the king, the princes had to face their father’s punishment. “You have been irresponsible and gone behind my back,” growled the king. “As punishment, you fools will take the form of miniscule young rabbits for the next year, and only retake your normal human form when you sleep!” With a ramble of magical words and a tap of his staff on the shimmering granite floor, the king turned his 3 handsome princes into cute little bunny rabbits. The first son was changed into a sleek black rabbit, the second into a fluffy white rabbit, and the youngest into a little rabbit with speckled blue fur. Time went on, and the rabbits dragged on through their daily routine of eating grass and hopping around during the daytime, and assuming their human form at night, only to be seen by no one but their father and lowly peasant maids. One day as the three rabbits nibbled grass and dug through the dirt in the palace garden, the blue rabbit spoke, "We have put up with this nonsense for long enough. I am sick and tired of being locked up inside this prison! Let’s sneak out through the pipe drain and see if we cannot let loose for just one day?!" The other two rabbits were hesitant to go though. They were afraid of the king; of what he might do to them if they were caught. However, their little brother bothered them so much that finally, the brothers agreed to go. All that afternoon, the rabbits ran out throu... ... middle of paper ... ...mpathy with their daughter after realizing that this was the reason for her depressive state over the past few months allowed their precious daughter to go. The princess kicked off her fancy heels and and dashed barefoot out to the gate enclosing the palace’s garden. Opening the gate and waving goodbye to her parents standing hand in hand in the doorway, she began her venture to find her true love. Back at the king’s palace, the youngest prince mourned over the princess, pleading and begging his father to shorten the duration of his punishment and allow him to marry this fine princess. The king would not budge though, and the rabbit was forced to drag on about his bland and boring day, nibbling grass in the palace garden. As the day moved on and the sun began to set the blue rabbit jumped on his bed, flipped over, and was tansformed into a very, very handsome prince.
