This story's style drew me. I liked how the story switches from this epistolary style to third person narration. That separation between the point of views enhanced my enjoyment. I don't know why but the letters illustrated the exposition in an engaging way. The letters symbolized Anastasia's grief, but her continuously running away showed her inability to let go as well. The witch gave the story a mystical element that I didn't expect. With the witch's influence, the story gained some strange and disturbing aspects, such as the father and sister coming back to live, but as lifeless drones.
