1. Take advantage of the time you have with people, hold everyone close. In The Kite Runner Amir takes advantage of Hassan to find out many years later that Hassan has died. Amir thinks that he can apologize to Hassan anytime he wants, but that isn't always the case. You never know when someone can pass away, and you don’t want to regret not spending any time with them. Amir has feelings of regret, because of his lack of effort to find Hassan. Chris Kyle, was an American soldier who had a movie made in his honor after his tragic, and unexpected death. During your life you want to leave an impression on the people you meet in a positive way. If you watch the news you may see different stories of people who have passed away from cancer, but they were positive about their lives the whole time they were sick. These people create a chain reaction around the world of positivity, and encourage people to keep fighting the battles they have in their life. If you think about their death in a positive way, then he or she has already left an impression on you. I can also connect this rule too many books that I have read. The Fault in our Stars showed how you can meet someone, and affect their life instantly. When Hazel met Augustus, he changed her life in a positive way, and gave her a reason to want to live. Before Hazel met him she was always alone, and never socialized with anyone outside of her family. She left an impression on Augustus, and his family. I am assuming that someone you care about has passed away before. Based on this assumption, I can say that, that person affected you in a way that made you grief over losing him or her. Betrayal, redemption, and forgiveness are all major themes in The Kite Runner written by Khaled Hosseini. The novel also focuses around the theme of a broken relationship between father and son as well as facing difficult situations from ones past. Amir and Hassan are best friends with two completely different personalities. Each character in the novel faces their own hardships and eventually learns to overcome those difficulties. Beginning with betrayal then the characters have to make their way to gaining redemption and forgiveness from others, as well as their self, is carried on throughout the novel. It is a continuous story of the relationships between Amir and his father Baba and facing their challenges from the past every day of their present.
• This quote is significant because of my experiences with people passing away. The careful wording and language you speak leaves a significant mark on one’s heart. Describing the process of death is extremely agonizing even when funerals are formal and well planned out events. The ceremony is filled with tears and pain, words cannot fully describe exactly what it feels like. All we can hope for is for them to have a good afterlife.
When death has taken someone from your life, you think of everything you said to them, your last words, memories, and the talks that happened. During this assignment, one will see the grieving process from me about a tenant that I took care of, and the impact this lady’s passing away, left me. Polan and Taylor (2015) says “Loss challenges the person’s priorities and importance of relationships.” (pg 226) When an individual loses someone that you see everyday and take care of, this effects you because, you build a relationship and get to know each other on a personal level. In Khaled Hosseini’s, A Thousand Splendid Suns, a mysterious man had just brought traumatic news. News that would change Laila forever. News that Laila had always feared. Her beloved Tariq was dead. She remembered the day that her mother had received the terrible news of her brother’s deaths, but that meant nothing to her. This was different though. She knew Tariq and was close to him. This death had an effect on her because she was a part of Tariq’s life and he was a huge part of hers. This suggests that the closer relationship you have with a person, the more impacted you are by their death.
In the novel “The Kite Runner,” by Khaled Hosseini, Hassan is a loyal, selfless and compassionate young boy. Hassan is a small, dark haired, green eyed Hazara who has a cleft lip. Hassan and his father are servants to Amir and his father, Baba. Hassan’s mother abandoned him when he was newborn and since he has lived in a mud shack at the back of Amir and Baba’s mansion with his father, Ali. Hassan is illiterate, but smart and is also the best kite runner in Kabul. Hassan’s world is Amir! He loves and worships him; his first word was Amir. Although Hassan has many notable qualities, he lives a hard and sad life.
Khaled Hosseini 's novel, The Kite Runner uses lots of literary techniques. The authors use of craft reveals how Amir’s childish psychological state results in his betrayal of hassan and his irrational behavior afterwards. The main elements used are setting, conflict, and point of view.

I learned that all lives connect somehow and that our choices affect others whether we know it or not. "Strangers are just family you have yet to come to know," perhaps one day in heaven. Khaled Hosseni’s The Kite Runner is a novel that tells the story of two boys – Amir and Hassan, his childhood friend and servant– who spend their lives attempting to overcome their obstacles. These obstacles create experiences that will shape them for the rest of their lives. Firstly, Hassan and Amir share similar hardships, however Hassan learns and grows from them, and Amir lingers over the negativity, allowing it to destroy his life instead of moving forward. Secondly, Amir is always rescued, which allows him to feel a sense of entitlement, while Hassan fights his own battles, resulting in a greater amount of inner strength. Lastly, as Amir and Hassan become adults in opposite ends of the world, they battle hardships that are very different. The differences within their adulthood continue to show who is the more honourable character. Ultimately, in Khaled Hosseni's The Kite Runner, Hassan is a stronger character than Amir, despite the fact that they both battle similar hardships.
Personal liberation and redemption occurs when a person encounters difficulties at some point in their life and redeems themselves later on, thus discovering their purpose in life. In Khaled Hosseini’s novel, “The Kite Runner”, the protagonist, Amir, knows a few things about mistakes. All through the novel he struggles to atone for those mistakes and throughout all stages of Amir’s life he strives for redemption and liberation. Comparing a young boy’s struggle to Walt Kowalski, a displeased man in the film “Gran Torino”, seems implausible but their stories correlate due to their journey towards liberation and redemption.
I never spent much time with them, but that's because I didn’t know that some people could have an effect on someone's life, even if they were never really known to exist. The movie The Kite Runner is based on the book and it contains both subtle and explicit differences as all books and movies do. Both the book and the movie have very compelling and moralistic themes though at times the movie’s themes seem limited. The themes presented throughout the movie and the book are penance, loyalty, prejudice, religion and growing up. The characterization, overall plot of the movie and the setting of the book seem to be consistent with each other though at times they both may vary both slightly and drastically.
