Church
Why anybody would want to go through life without knowing and understanding their purpose is beyond me, as is the case for hundreds of millions of people around the world. How is it that Christianity has become the largest religion in the world? It didn't draw upon the souls of millions because of its grandeur, but because of it appealed to something that billions around the wold struggle with. It proposed an answer to many of our lives problems. The church is open to any and all who are willing, and offer a place to discover the purpose in life, and develop a sense of self-worth and appreciation, which will then teach you how to live a fulfilling life.
One of the many benefits of going to church and becoming a christian is understanding your purpose of being on earth and understanding how to live your life with utmost fulfillment and achieving joy while preserving your morals. While all humans are innately built with a need to achieve pleasure the main difference between those of the world and those in the church are the means and ways of accomplishing this goal. The deviation stems from the difference in the types of pleasure each set out to attain. Many of the world's pleasures conflict with our conscience and morals, and the teachings of the church. It's these conflicting actions which lead to many non-christians being dissatisfied and being unhappy. “Many who don’t belong to a church try desperately to convince themselves that they are happy. They fool everyone but themselves. Or they know they are not happy and try to drown their sorrow in drinking, drugs, sports, work or something else to keep their minds off their unhappiness”(Gritters). Those who practice Christianity boast of having higher levels of joy and happiness in life no matter what circumstances they may be facing. “A person that is truly Christian, one who studies, practices and teaches the Gospel of Jesus Christ on a regular basis, has a fullness of joy regardless the difficult adversities that they may face in their life”(Smith). To help guide many people of the world in finding joy and happiness associated with becoming a christian, churches have worked hard to make it their top priority to “Strive to be an "open-door" church, actively reaching out and welcoming all persons”(NBUMC).
The church is a place in which many come to find a sense of belonging, comfort, and purpose. It's through these three qualities which have drawn and maintained many church goers throughout the years.
In the eyes of the people the church is one place you are spared from judgment and critique. It is the one place you should feel safe, to express your thoughts and opinions, pray to the higher power in which you believe and your faith resides and be free of society qualms, demands, and realism. Many people believe that today’s Christians are too sheltered and oblivious to the real world around them. When asked, many outsiders compared today’s Christians to “The Titanic - a ship about to sink, but unaware of its fate” or “a hobby that diverts people’s attention” (Kinnaman 120). It is important Christians to not just stay secluded in one group (church group), but to be talking to others (outsiders) so we are aware of the problems and thing that are going on in the world around us. As Christians we are called to be disciples of Jesus by reaching out to those in need, praying for those around us, and calling people to become the church. In “Unchristian” David Kinnaman outlines three main things we as Christians should include in our lives: accepting responsibility, not being fearful, helping the desperate, being prepared, and keeping a balance.
Is it wrong then to go to a church building to help you fulfill your responsibilities as part of God’s church? I don’t believe so. Is it wrong to meet in someone’s house for the same purpose? No, I don’t believe so. Is it wrong to meet outside in a park? Based from Scripture, no. Then why does the modern Christian community have the church building on a pedestal?
Church is a major part of my life. I have always gone to church. It is a part of who I am. Church is not only about sitting through church services. I am currently involved in Russian school, Sunday school, camps, wind ensemble, teens’ group, teens' choir, and youth group. There are so many engaging activities and groups that bring together our community, defining who we are as individuals and as a society.
All of us have encountered someone in our lifetime – a family member, a co-worker, a neighbor, or an acquaintance – who asked us WHY? Why do we pour all of our talents, all of our gifts, and all of our service into church?

Starting back at the very beginning of this process is the most dangerous aspect of this entire process we follow to gain a worldview. In today’s society there is a variety of versions of “God.” Depending on which God you believe in, your community and culture could be very far fetched from what the truth is. The overlying theme behind every formation that coincides with any worldview can be asked in one question. What is the purpose of my life? As Christians, we should be involved in society’s version of “popular culture.” We are called in the Bible to be the salt of the world, as the salt we shouldn’t be merely consuming the culture in which we live in, we should be part of it, adding everything we can.

The first group in these categories is the Never-Miss-a-Service Christians. They consider themselves the bedrock of the Christian faith. Their lives are centered on following Jesus Christ. Furthermore, it is unacceptable to just attend the typical Sunday morning and evening services. This group is involved in every aspect of church functions.
...hem, church is not simply a place of worship, but it is a community center where they know they can go and be among like-minded people. This offers a sense of relief to an individual. Geertz states that religious symbols help with the pain of hardship, so does the knowledge of having people by your side no matter the circumstance. This may be true in any religio-cultural institution, but I can only speak for my own. I know that no matter what Greek Orthodox Church I walk into, in any part of the world, I will understand, I will know the service, the expectations and above all, I will be welcomed with open arms simply because I am Greek. . This feeling of inclusion, of belonging to something beyond just you, to something that transcends time and socio-economic realities incorporating tiny you into a universal web of love, understanding and support is beyond words.
There will always be a hunger for religion, to add a meaningful purpose to life. “And that much never can be obsolete, Since someone will forever be surprising A hunger in himself to be more serious” (Larkin 868). The desire for something with meaning in this world will always attract people to the church, not just the physical side, but to its tenets of belief and hope. The church is a place someone can learn and expand their education, not just in verses, but in life as well. “And gravitating with it to this ground, Which, he once heard, was proper to grow wise in, If only that so many dead lie round” (Larkin 868).
“For I know the plans I have for you declares the lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11 from the bible) Since day one of my life, my faith is what gets me through each day. I centered my graduation project on something I care most about because I was involved with my church since I was born. Through activities like a spaghetti dinner in February, Easter fellowship the Saturday of Easter, vacation bible school during the summer, youth babysitting during Christmas, and Christmas caroling these are just a few things I participate in at my church.
The Importance of a Catholic Regularly Attending Mass Catholics attend mass for many reasons, although there are many. different reasons for going to mass, there is one thing that all people want from mass, and that is some sort of help or advice from. God. I will be with you. Some people may think it is impossible to go to mass and return with advice from God, but people deal with mass in different ways and can take from it what they are willing to give back, not just to the church, but to all of the people they love and care for.
As Christians, we try to think that since we are saved we are living a life like Christ but, we are missing the key points of living. In the book, “The Spirit of the Disciplines” author, Dallas Willard emphasizes the spiritual disciplines of our lives and to live like Jesus did. He mentions how the people of the world are missing the disciplines that are set for them in their lives. In Genesis 1:27, “So God created man in his own image.” We are the people of the Lord and must do works to please our God it is a way to show our gratitude for all he has done for us.
