When one considers a military career, especially the Elite Forces of the various branches, thorough investigation should be given to the requirements needed to enter this exclusive program. Each branch has a basic standard for being accepted as a basic recruit, and much more stringent requirements to become a member of the elite specialty team. The best known of the elite, are the Army Rangers, Green Berets, Army special requirements Delta and Navy Seals. There is no doubt that these special forces units are full of the most physically and mentally fit men who have earned their right to protect the United States in more extraordinary and dangerous ways than the average military forces.
The basic United States Army is an easy branch of the military to enlist into. The academic and physical requirements are easy to pass, but when you truly push and aim for the highest requirements on both academic and physical testing, you open the door to so many more options inside the military. What does stop most people from being able to succeed, is the mental toughness needed to succeed in the intensive programs the Army Special Forces offers. It shows you need academic strength, as much as physical strength if you want to go far in the military. It also requires a mind set to not quit and to push in life until your dream is succeeded.
The Army Special Forces is an extremely difficult program to qualify for. A candidate must be mentally focused. The physical requirements are demanding and one must be at the top of their form. Self motivation has to be in the forefront to even qualify to be in the Special Forces. Academic ability is just as important when enlisting. The decision to join the Military and especially a “Special Forces” group requires a deep personal evaluation. One may think they are ready for pushing themselves to the ultimate limit of physical requirements but it also requires a mental commitment. As research shows, drop out rates in the military elite forces is high due to extreme mental and physical demands. All aspects of enlisting into any branch of the Armed Forces should be seriously considered by the individual before making such a commitment.
