Sex tourism can be acknowledged as a booster for economy in some countries and eventually become the source of their income. However, every country has their own uniqueness which attracts tourists to visit them, and prostitution is not a ‘must’ in order for a country’s economy to grow. One example found is in Thailand, which prostitutes are found commonly in bars, especially in Pattaya. The popularity of prostitution somehow overcomes the beauty of Thailand’s nature. As Thailand is known by foreigners for its beautiful natural resources and culture, it is more reasonable to support the praiseworthy traditions. Some regions face the problem of poverty and prostitution became a way to solve their poor status. Some specific countries, like Thailand, own a conservative culture and embracing immoral behavior like prostitution is a ridiculous thing to do. There is a quote provided by ‘Sex Tourism in Thailand’ article, stating that “Nevertheless, while the variety of services and an increasing popularity and huge profits, the attitude to sex tourism, is negative for the Thai government and society. Sex tourism turned to make Thailand the center of this industry, setting the unpleasant image on the state and society.” Prostitution will also leave bad impression for the tourists as not every tourist came for the sex services. Types of health problems can be categorized into physical and mental trauma. For prostitutes, the possibility of getting infected by diseases transmitted through blood and sex is quite high.
