Jewish Communities display the ritual of Pilgrimage which express the beliefs of adherents to a high extent. It’s considered by adherents of Judaism a journey or search of moral and spiritual significance. A pilgrimage is a journey to a shrine or a location of importance to adherents’ beliefs and faith. Adherents of Jewish Communities express their beliefs to a high extent because they participate in 3 different Pilgrimage Festivals. The 3 Pilgrimage Festivals include Pesach also known as Passover, Shavuot known as the Pentecost, and Sukkot which is known as Tabernacles and Tents. Some sacred sites include: The Western Wall, Mount Meron, Tomb of Maimonides, and Beit She’arim. These destinations are all significant and sacred to the Jewish Community which also shows how Jewish Communities express their beliefs of the Ritual of Pilgrimage to a high extent.
The Western Wall is the holiest of Jewish Sacred Sites. As a part of the retaining wall it is sacred because it is supported and enclosed to the second temple. Looking at the divergence of Conservative and Orthodox you can see where both are changing and evolving into their own. Conservative Judaism supports both the Traditional Orthodox and the Progressive Reform Branches. It attempts to combine a positive attitude to the modern culture. Conservative follows traditional liturgy and it is spoken mainly in Hebrew. The difference between Conservative and Orthodox is Men and women are both allowed to sit together and Women are allowed to participate fully in Synagogue Service Prayers and Rituals. Orthodox on the other hand maintains a traditional form of Worship in the Hebrew Language. In Orthodox Synagogues men and women sit separately and women aren’t allowed to participate fully in Synagogue Service Prayers and Rituals.
