There are so many people, in my life that have helped me find my way into nursing school. Growing up with adults in my life that were always fair, wise, understanding, and strong, have shown me how to be a great nurse. These people have no idea that they shaped my thoughts, and feelings for the better. With these qualities I have observed, that they drove me into the nursing field because I wanted to utilize my virtues I have learned.
Summary
One of the most admirable people I have met in my life that lead me into nursing, must have been Jaimie Munter. This is my best friend Lucas’s mother. Jaimie has always shown me the true meaning of justice. I job shadowed her in high school, and she was always fair, treating all her patients with the utmost respect. Her favorite story to tell me was about an obese male patient who had no legs, and how none of the nurses or techs wanted to take him to the bathroom. Though people thought that way, she was always happy to take him, and enjoyed it because she knew it was her who needed to step up. She treated this man with more respect, and fairness than any other nurse at the dialysis unit. This made me happy to see, making me want to be a nurse. I want to treat all my patients fair, and make their stay the most pleasant to my abilities. Growing up, my grandpa Joe showed more justice than I thought was possible for just a simple old man. Before he passed away, he never treated anyone differently. Never letting his emotions get in his way to treat an individual poorly. If there was a fight between us kids, he was there to resolve it. To justify the rules, making games we were playing with fair. Making us share toys we favorited. I always looked up to him growing up, and now that I am an adult I am trying
