Different media texts are exposed in various ways to the public and little do we know that all of them are part of the media industry. The improvement of technology is an aspects of media that seem to take a different and more advanced way of improving the media industry. In a very short period of time one may be well informed about the political, social, cultural and economic developments of the country and the world at large. Our daily lives involve all these above mentioned activities and media seeks to communicate to the public through the different mediums of communications for example radio, television, newspapers and mobile-phones and thus we cannot do without media.

Why does the study of media matter?
Whether one likes it or not, media will always be a part of our lives in one way or another because it comes in different forms and sizes. When an advertisement of a product for example, the mind set or thinking of one changes towards that particular thing and that is one way of why media matters. This happens in different aspects of life when presented with media, it can be social, cultural, political or economic.
