Today, we are facing a healthcare communication crisis. The relationship between doctor and patient relationship is falling apart. For patient who are not able to make decision for themselves, so they rely on their family members. This puts more stress on doctors, such that patient out number doctors and it prevents them from using their full capacity. Ways to help this cause will be by redefining healthcare to society. To redefine healthcare communication one needs to understand the doctor’s role.

How can we solve this problem? Gail Reed suggest there should be a Medical school open to the world. In Cuba, they tend to give a full ride scholarship for people who are capable of becoming doctors. In the medical school of Havana, 20,000 of doctors graduate annually (Reed). This school teaches to about 86 countries around the world. They come to Cuba to become future physicians for their community. They are from lower income countries who are funded by organization to help their community. As a result, majority of these doctors come from multiple languages, but in return they all get to understand Spanish. Learning Spanish is critical because it’s a language known worldwide. Plus, students around the world come to Milan, Havana with their native country and their native language. People communicate together and learn how to communicate with one language. we need to redefine how society see health care. When people go to a medical center, people try to find the person available for someone health. Of course one will want a doctor to check them out, but majority of the times, people have simple symptoms a nurse can consult. Today society should lesson the stress of work form doctors. One is by notifying people there are others profession who can consult them about their health other than doctors. For example nurses, they are the marine of medicine because they are in the front line of diagnosing patients. Plus nurses are divided into three, Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Vocational Nurses (Lvn), register nurse assistant (RNA) and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Luckily, someone does not need to go four years a medical school to become a RNA or a CNA. After, they become an RNA, it takes a couple of semester to become an LVN. Same goes to RN people behind the navy seal. The navy seal are the doctors who conduct the special missions. Other medical specialist can help reduce the work, like pharmacist. Medical stores like CVS, have consultation where someone can ask the pharmacist which medicine they should take if they are feeling such and such. Majority of times, these consultation are simple and they would inform them that the medicine is available to the public.
