The Internship follows the lives of Billy McMahon (Vince Vaughn) and Nick Campbell (Owen Wilson) and their path to success in life and with regard to an internship at the Google headquarters. Billy and Nick at the beginning of the film are salesmen, who real-ise that the sales company to which they belong has declared bankruptcy. The harsh reality hits them that the increase in modern technology has decreased the need for them in the business market. Facing this dilemma, Billy and Nick go their separate ways, and Nick desperately decides to work for his arrogant brother-in-law, Kevin (Will Ferrell) which proves to be harder than expected. So then it can be said that people who think of creative ideas or innovative solutions to problems, are no less creative than artists or musicians. A good way to stimulate creative thinking could be brain storming in groups. By ‘bouncing’ ideas off other people, it allows people to look at things from a different perspective which could spark more creative thinking. Creative thinking is vital in today’s increasingly competitive society, as it allows businesses to keep up with the rapid advancement of technology as well as staying ahead and maintaining competitive advantage over other businesses in the market by using creativity to be unique and relevant. Creative thinking is linked to problem solving, as one has to think creatively in order to solve a problem. Problem solving encompasses identifying the problem, analysing it and verifying whether the problem can be solved or not. Implementation of a solution to the problem is a crucial aspect of problem solving. Problems can either be predictable (such as needing a bigger office space due to expansion of a business) or unexpected (such as natural disasters). Conflict management also focuses on reducing the negative effects of conflict as well as putting measures in place in order to either prevent or reduce conflict within certain or-ganisations or businesses. Conflict is defined as a disagreement through which the parties involved perceive a threat to their needs, interests or concerns. There are two types of conflict, Functional and Dysfunctional conflict. Functional conflict is a non-aggressive form of conflict which stimulates creativity and allows ideas to flow. People can disagree, but they can work together in order to find a solution. Dysfunctional conflict is an aggressive type of disagreement where people refuse to work towards a solution and the task is compromised. Businesses will then obviously prefer to deal with functional conflict. There are many reasons for conflict but if managers acquire skills and tools to manage conflict, then the amount of conflict within an organisation will be very little. Team management and conflict management go hand in hand. If an organisation or business has good team management then conflict management will also be good, which will inturn, then drastically decrease the amount of conflict within an organisation or business. People react and deal very differently to conflict, this means that approaches to conflict will never be the same but differ in terms of complexity and type of conflict. Usually
